Information and Referral
SIILC serves as an information and referral center to better inform individuals of their options, choices, and rights. There are many resources available within the community of which individuals may not have knowledge. SIILC can assist individuals in receiving information required to make informed decision about their lives.

In-Home Services
SIILC Home Care provides alternatives to pre-mature nursing facility placement. Providing supportive home-based services helps our consumers remain living independently within their own homes.

SIILC hires and trains local Personal Care Attendants to provide homemaking and attendant care services.

Homemaking services offer assistance with household tasks such as:
cleaning
sweeping
mopping
dusting
dishes
laundry
making beds
changing linens
taking out trash
running errands

picking up prescriptions
grocery shopping
and more
Attendant care services offer assistance for individuals of all ages such as:
meal preparation
reminding clients to administer medications
bathing
grooming
dressing
toileting
escorting clients to doctors' appointments
and more

SIILC Home Care Services also helps transition clients from hospitals, rehabilitation and nursing facilities returning to community settings at home.

Peer Counseling
Peer support enables people with disabilities to learn from the life experiences and expertise of others. SIILC believes "There is no need to reinvent the wheel. " SIILC has resources available for consumers to connect individuals with similar situations to assist them.

Advocacy
SIILC promotes a policy for providing self-help and self- advocacy among individuals with significant disabilities. SIILC promotes the education of businesses and government representatives on the abilities and needs of people with disabilities.

Ombudsman
SIILC promotes striving for excellence in long term care and advocating for residents' rights through the Ombudsman Program. The Ombudsman serves as an advocate who seeks to resolve complaints made by or on behalf of individuals receiving Long-Term Care services.

Independent Living Skills Training
SIILC assists individuals in their efforts to learn new ways to perform daily living functions such as: cooking, bill paying, cleaning, shopping, dressing, and many others.
